About this policy
Sportscaster is provided by Joshua Miller, LLC. This policy describes the information involved when you use the Sportscaster app and this website.
Core app features do not require an account. We do not include advertising or behavioral analytics trackers in the app or this website. This website does not use analytics or advertising cookies.
Your preferences and settings
Your selected league, favorite teams, hate watches, pinned games, display choices, audio-provider preference, and notification settings are stored locally on your device. For You uses game data and your preferences on that device. These preferences are not sent with ordinary score requests. On iPhone, iPad, and Mac, favorites, hate watches, pinned games, audio preferences, alert rules, saved views, and learned league-interest scores also sync through Apple’s iCloud key-value storage when you’re signed in. Sync records include revision times and a random installation identifier to resolve conflicting changes. The app continues to use local preferences when iCloud is unavailable; Android preferences remain local. There is no Sportscaster account or server-side preference store.
Notifications are generated on your device from refreshed game data and use the permissions you grant in your system settings. Sportscaster does not currently operate a closed-app push notification service.
On supported Apple devices, Siri and widgets share this context locally with the app’s native features. When they request recommendations, they send favorite College Football and NFL team identifiers, your audio-provider preference, league choices, and available-network context to Sportscaster’s API. The recommendation service uses these preferences to calculate its response; it does not save the submitted preference request in the app’s database.
Requests for game information
The app connects to Sportscaster’s API to retrieve scores, schedules, broadcasts, and other game information. Opening a game may request additional details. Our service obtains sports information from data and broadcast providers.
Network requests include technical information, such as an IP address, that is needed to deliver a response. The app’s local favorite-team and hate-watch settings are not required to request a league’s scores.
Crash and error reports
Sportscaster uses Bugsnag to find and fix crashes, errors, and app hangs. Reports can include crash logs, performance information, app and device details, session activity, and recent interaction or network-request breadcrumbs. Bugsnag generates user and device identifiers so reports from the same installation can be associated. These identifiers do not require a Sportscaster account.
We use this information for app reliability and troubleshooting, not advertising or tracking across other companies’ apps and websites. See Bugsnag’s privacy guidance for information about its reporting. Questions about this reporting can be sent to support@sportscaster.xyz.
